Klemenčič Marina

Assistant Professor at Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology, University of Ljubljana

Marina Klemenčič received her Ph.D. in biochemistry in 2013 at the University of Ljubljana under the supervision of prof. dr. Brigita Lenarčič. From 2016 to 2018 she was a post-doctoral fellow at Umeå University, Sweden, in the laboratory of dr. Christiane Funk. After returning to the University of Ljubljana, she became an assistant professor. Her research focuses on structural and functional characterization of algal proteases, enzymes of key importance in maintaining life and executing death in these organisms. She is an active member of the Association of Slovenes educated abroad and is one of the founding members of the Cutting Edge society, introducing scientific concepts for students and young researchers.
