Kosec Gregor

Gregor Kosec received his BSc. degree in chemistry at the University of Ljubljana in 2001. He continued his PhD studies in a collaborative project between the Jožef Stefan Institute in Ljubljana and San Martin university in Buenos Aires, focusing on new protease families as potential virulence factors in parasitic diseases. In 2008, he joined Acies Bio, a Slovenian start-up, focused on microbial biotechnology. At Acies he is passionately exploring the diversity of microbial strains, biosynthetic pathways and enzymes and oversees numerous R&D-projects of the company, aiming to create a healthy and sustainable bio-based future. He is a strong believer in curiosity, science and entrepreneurial spirit as main drivers of personal and social development.
