Sanja Fidler: Towards AI for 3D Content Creation
American Slovenian Education Foundation (ASEF) organizes a new ASEF Speaker Series event. This time prof. dr. Sanja Fidler will deliver a lecture titled “Towards AI for 3D content creation”.
3D content is key in several domains such as architecture, film, gaming, and robotics. However, creating 3D content can be very time consuming — the artists need to sculpt high quality 3d assets, compose them into large worlds, and bring these worlds to life by writing behaviour models that “drives” the characters around in the world. In this lecture, prof. Fidler will discuss some of our recent efforts on introducing automation in the 3D content creation process using A.I.
Dr. Sanja Fidler is an Associate Professor at the University of Toronto, co-founder of the Vector Institute, and a Director of AI at NVIDIA, leading a research lab in Toronto. Prior coming to Toronto, in 2012/2013, she was a Research Assistant Professor at Toyota Technological Institute at Chicago, an academic institute located in the campus of the University of Chicago. She did her postdoc with Prof. Sven Dickinson at the University of Toronto in 2011/2012, after finishing her Ph.D. in 2010 at the University of Ljubljana in Slovenia in the group of Prof. Ales Leonardis. In 2010, she was visiting Prof. Trevor Darrell’s group at UC Berkeley and ICSI. She got her BSc degree in Applied Math at the University of Ljubljana.
