Tajda Klobučar: An Insight Into the Diverse World of RNA

November 23, 2021 | 7:00 pm | Online

ASEF organizes a new ASEF Young Minds event. This time ASEF Junior Fellow Tajda Klobučar, PhD student in biosciences and researcher in the Laboratory for RNA Networks at the Institute of Chemistry, will deliver a lecture titled “An Insight Into the Diverse World of RNA”. The lecture will be held on Tuesday, November 23, at 7 PM CET.

REGISTRATION
To attend the lecture, you have to register in advance until November 23 at 6 PM CET (one hour before the event): https://bit.ly/2ZcjSZA. All registered to the event will receive a Zoom link on their email address on time.

ABOUT THE LECTURE
RNA molecules are in many ways an indispensable part of every cell. Without them, proteins, cellular workhorses, would not be formed. However, there are a whole host of RNA molecules that do not lead to protein synthesis, but together with them significantly regulate gene expression. How? And how can we track such interactions within cells? Why are we actually interested in this level of cellular regulation at all? With the help of these questions, we will walk through the diverse world of RNA in a lecture.

ABOUT THE LECTURER
Tajda Klobučar is a second-year doctoral student in Biosciences, majoring in bioinformatics, and the recipient of a Janko Jamnik doctoral scholarship. She is employed in the Laboratory for RNA Networks at the Department of Molecular Biology and Nanobiotechnology at the Institute of Chemistry under the leadership of dr. Jernej Ule. Since 2020, she has been an active member of the ASEF community.
