Frenk Dragar: Detection and Watermarking of AI-generated Content
The American Slovenian Educational Foundation, in collaboration with KŠOC, is organising a popular science lecture on Thursday, March 28, at 7 p.m., which will be held by Frenk Dragar, ASEF Junior Fellow 2023, Master’s student in Artificial Intelligence at the University of Utrecht. The lecture is titled “Detection and Watermarking of AI-generated Content” and will be held in MCC (Mariborska cesta 2, 3000 Celje).

ABOUT THE LECTURE
AI-generated text, images, audio, and videos are entering the point of near indistinguishability by humans (and machines). This creates the potential for misuse, such as identity theft and spreading of misinformation. How do generative AI models work, and how do we detect what has been generated by them?
ABOUT THE LECTURER
Frenk Dragar is a MSc student of Artificial Intelligence at Utrecht University (NL), and alumni of Computer Science and Mathematics at the University of Ljubljana. Through the ASEF Junior Fellowship programme, he visited Dr. Gašper Beguš at University of California, Berkeley in autumn 2023, where he researched watermarking of generative speech models.

ASEF Young Minds is a series of popular science lectures, which encourages young people to present their research work and experience gained within the framework of the ASEF fellowship program in a way that is accessible and understandable to the general public. In the project, ASEF connects with local organizations that operate in the places where the lecturers come from. The aim of cooperation is to connect and integrate young learners into the local Slovenian environment.
ASEF connects and unites Slovenian scientists and academics all over the world.
“We’re not professionals, but we’re good at what we do!” is the motto that describes the KŠOC in a short but succinct way. KŠOC is a voluntary and non-political association that brings together students with the aim of networking, informing and organising youth activities and projects in the Celje Administrative Unit.
