ASEF at the 15th Informativa: Together we discovered opportunities for research visits abroad

December 22, 2024 | 3:01 pm |

On Friday 19 and Saturday 20 January 2024, the 15th Informativa, the largest national pre-information day, took place at Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre with the participation of ASEF. The event was a unique opportunity for elementary and high school students to get all the relevant information in one place to help them make decisions about their future education.

ASEF shared a stand with IntegralEdu, with whom we were delighted to work together to identify opportunities for prospective students who showed great interest in studying and conducting research abroad. Enriched by the invaluable experience of ASEF Junior Fellows, our team made every effort to provide first-hand answers to all the questions posed by promising young individuals. The ASEF Junior Fellows Živa Alif, Tina Logonder, Katja Hrovat, Ines Žabkar and Martin Rihtaršič provided a unique opportunity for in-depth discussions with the visitors, inspiring young people with their experiences and encouraging them to pursue their ambitions. Visitors enthusiastically shared their aspirations for the future with us and were impressed by our mission to unite Slovenians around the world, the diligently expanding network of mentors, and the accessibility of visits to prestigious universities facilitated   through ASEF Fellowship program. For additional motivation, we rewarded individuals who correctly identified the flags of the countries where ASEF Junior Fellows can conduct  research visits with various prices.

This year’s Informativa was characterized by diversity and a wealth of knowledge. The event was honored by the visit of the Minister of Public Administration, Mag. Franc Props, Minister of Cohesion and Regional Development Dr. Aleksander Jevšek, and the Honorary Sponsor of the 15th Informativa, Minister of Economy, Tourism and Sport Matjaž Han. The Ministers took an active part in the event, strolled between the halls and talked to many young people, encouraging them to develop their career paths. The visit of senior government representatives to the event underlines the importance of and support for education and professional development for young people.

With a rich cultural, educational and accompanying programme, the 15th Informativa was a truly diverse event. Visitors had a great opportunity to obtain information directly from pupils, students, professors and experts. In addition, they could participate in interesting activities, such as a lecture on speed reading, get acquainted  with eGovernment digital services, and engage in discussions about their experiences with successful Slovenians like Emkej, Cene Prevc and Raiven. In parallel, the 7th job fair Moja prva zaposlitev took place, giving young people the opportunity to get in direct contact with companies looking for recruits.

You are invited to view highlights of the event on our social media channels and subscribe to our newsletter for further information on the call for applications for the fellowship programme and other opportunities and activities we offer. We would like to thank all the visitors who contributed to the success of the event and we look forward to seeing you again at future projects and events.
