Gosar Žiga

Žiga Gosar is a Second cycle physics student at the Faculty of mathematics and physics, University of Ljubljana. His past work experience includes simulation of hot water heaters, evolutionary algorithms, cold atoms, optical fibers (in particular splicing of optical fibers), tutoring, and popularization of science.

During the summer he will be working with Prof. Andrej Košmrlj at the Princeton University on the topic of soft 2D periodic materials (acoustic metamaterials). These materials are able to reversibly switch between two different configurations with different properties, for example, the different transmission of vibrations and sound. In his free time, he likes to travel (he is especially excited about Southeast Asia), write code, and play with Raspberry Pi, Arduino, and other electronics. He is also training to become an alpinist.
