Uroš Vezonik is a Master’s student at the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology, University of Ljubljana. The first research project he was involved in was a PKP project Development of Water-based Dispersion Coatings with Improved Rheological Properties in his second year. He is the most interested in the field of organic chemistry, which is why he was working on the synthesis of new ligands for the transition metals under the supervision of prof. dr. Janez Košmrlj for his Bachelor’s degree. As an ASEF fellow, he got the opportunity to join prof. Šalah’s research group at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign this summer, where he will work on the synthesis of complex and biologically active natural products. Uroš is a big sports fan. His favorite is basketball, which he used to play. Besides following sports, he enjoys walking his dog and watching suspenseful movies.
