Košenina Sara

Sara Košenina is a second-year PhD student at Stockholm University, Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics. She is studying the botulinum neurotoxins using a wide variety of methods, including X-ray crystallography and cryo EM, to understand toxins basic mechanism and to improve their therapeutic properties. Before starting her PhD she obtained her master’s degree in biochemistry at Stockholm University. As a passionate structural biologist, she´s looking forward to expanding her knowledge by doing a research project with prof. Boštjan Kobe at the University of Queensland this summer, where she’ll be working on structural studies of proteins important in infection in immunity. In her free time, Sara enjoys spending time outdoors, hiking, skiing and discovering nature.
