Maja is a third year undergraduate student at the University of Dayton where she is majoring in Communication Management and minoring in Biology. Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, Maja’s been immersed in Sloveninan culture through her parish Saint Vitus Church and participating in Folklora Kres. She is also extremely grateful to be a member of Cleveland’s Slovenska Pristava community where she learned about her heritage and made many Slovenian-American friends. In addition, Maja was fortunate to be exposed to her Slovenian culture through her grandparents, Pavel and Cilka.
After graduating from the University of Dayton, Maja hopes to work in medical sales or in a Human Resources position in the medical field. During her trip to Slovenia, Maja is looking forward to broadening her professional skills as well as gaining valuable work experiences in a different country. While also exploring the country and immersing herself in her heritage, Maja is excited to reconnect with family as well as make new, long-lasting friendships with the other ASEF fellows.
