Janko Kalan is a senior undergraduate student at Pittsburg State University and is majoring in exercise science with a clinical/pre-professional emphasis. He hopes to be accepted into a doctorate of physical therapy program soon to pursue a career in physical therapy.
Janko was born in Slovenia and lived there for several years before moving to Kansas in the United States. His grandparents, aunt, uncle, and cousins of his father’s side, still reside in Slovenia as well as several cousins on his mother’s side. Janko has spent many summers in Slovenia visiting family and exploring the beautiful landscape.
During his trip, Janko hopes to dig deeper into his family history, improve his language skills, make connections with others of Slovenian heritage, and expand his knowledge in the area of physical therapy to be prepared for graduate school.
