Grace Simenc

Grace Simenc graduated from the University of California, Berkeley in the spring of 2023 with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a domain emphasis in Neuroscience. As an undergraduate student, she researched various neurological disorders and the efficacy of their respective treatment options, leading her to discover a surprising lack of diagnostic methodologies available for psychiatric comorbidity. As an ASEF fellow she hopes to devise a novel, parsimonious approach to diagnosing and treating AuDHD — the comorbidity of Autism Spectrum Disorder and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.

She is currently expanding the breadth of her laboratory experience as a Veterinary Assistant at Banfield Pet Hospital in San Francisco, California where she is in training to become a Surgical Assistant. After obtaining a DVM, she intends to eventually merge her passion for neuropsychology with her interest and experience in animal behavior by specializing in the rapidly developing field of Neuroethology.

Outside of work and academics, Grace enjoys exploring nature and she can often be found painting, playing sports, or hanging out with her two cats.
