Tijan Prijon presented the use of machine learning in cosmology
The third lecture of the ASEF Young Minds programme in cooperation with ŠO Mafija took place at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics in Ljubljana. Tijan Prijon, an ASEF Junior Fellow of the 2021 generation and physics student at FMF UL, who will continue his studies next year at ETH Zurich in Switzerland, presented his research work.
Tijan explained in depth the prediction of cosmological parameters from simulations based on results obtained during a research visit to Berkeley, University of California, with Prof. Dr. Uroš Seljak. This provided a concrete example of machine learning methods that can be used to predict the concentration of dark matter halos.
The next lecture in ASEF Young Minds cycle is taking place on 13th of June. Vid Keršič, ASEF Junior Fellow generation 2021, and a young researcher and PhD student at FERI UM, will present his research work in the field of artificial intelligence.
The project is implemented with the support of the Office for Youth.
