Research projects:

Don Moore’s research focuses on confidence and overconfidence, including when people think they are better than they actually are, when people think they are better than others, and when people are too sure they know the truth. Moore’s recent research has focused on the last form of overconfidence: excessive certainty in one’s beliefs. Most people claim to be more certain that they deserve to be about the beliefs they hold. Interestingly, artificially intelligent agents appear to show the same tendency.
