ASEF Debuts in South America with a Scientific Symposium on Artificial Intelligence in Buenos Aires
ASEF is expanding its global reach with its first-ever scientific event in Argentina. On May 4, 2026, the “AI for a Shared Future” symposium will bring together world-renowned experts at UCEMA, Buenos Aires, to explore the impact of Artificial Intelligence across various scientific disciplines.
The symposium marks a significant milestone in international scientific collaboration between Slovenia and Argentina. Organized by ASEF, Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia in Buenos Aires, UCEMA, the Slovenian Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, and the SLOAR business community, the event aims to build a high-tech bridge between the two nations.
A Multidisciplinary Look at the AI Revolution
Artificial Intelligence is no longer a future concept but a defining force of our current era. The symposium will feature a diverse lineup of speakers who will decode the AI revolution from multiple perspectives:
- Jure Leskovec, Ph.D. (Stanford University): Will provide a video introduction to the topic.
- Sergio Pernice, Ph.D. (UCEMA): Will discuss the “Anatomy of an Ongoing Revolution” in Artificial Intelligence.
- Robert Jeraj, Ph.D. (University of Wisconsin): Will present on the applications of AI in Medical Physics and Radiology.
- Saša Čaval, Ph.D. (Stanford Archaeology Center): Will explore the intersection of AI and Archaeology.
Empowering the Next Generation
A special highlight of the event is the panel “Rising Minds: The Next Generation and AI,” featuring Argentine ASEF Fellows. These young professionals – including Magdalena Eciolaza, Bautista Ciro Kraševec, and Mariano Figueroa – will share their insights on navigating the age of AI and the importance of international research exchange.
