A Christmas Gift to Our Community: The First ASEF Yearbook Is Out

December 23, 2025

While most of the world is preparing for Christmas dinners and New Year’s festivities, ASEF is celebrating the end of the year in a very special way. It is with great pride that we announce the release of the first-ever ASEF Yearbook, which captures the pulse of our growing family throughout 2025 across more than 100 pages.

Over a Decade of Knowledge and Bridges in One Place

The 2025 Yearbook is more than just a collection of memories from the past year; it is a living testament to how we grow in knowledge, lead with character, and give back to the community. Inside, you will find:

  • Inspiring stories of our fellows from the Research Abroad and Visit Slovenia programs: From an ornithologist in South America to an AI expert reminding us that strategic thinking remains key.
  • Behind-the-scenes insights: Read about the strategies ASEF fellows used to overcome mental blocks and why the borders of one’s homeland are not the borders of the heart.
  • Our Mentor Network: We rarely have the opportunity to share the direct thoughts and breakthroughs of our ASEF mentors. This time, some of them have shared for the first time what ASEF mentorship means to them, the importance of interdisciplinarity, and the impact of having great teaching role models since childhood.

A Holiday Gift to the Community

In the spirit of Christmas giving and returning to the community, we invite you to take a moment to read about the extraordinary achievements we have gathered for you in one place. May the stories of our fellows, who stepped out of their comfort zones with the help of ASEF to achieve world-class results, serve as inspiration for your own goals in 2025.

Become Part of the Future: 2025 ASEF Excellence Fund

To build even more bridges and support more young talents in the future, we kindly invite you to participate in the 2025 ASEF Excellence Fund donation campaign. Your support enables us to provide young talents with elite connections in the academic and corporate worlds both at home and abroad. Furthermore, it allows us to create opportunities for youth of Slovenian descent living abroad to discover and live their Slovenian heritage and culture.

ASEF is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. All donations made by December 31, 2025, are tax-deductible for the 2025 tax year.
