The most recent episode of the ASEF Podcast Let’s Talk About Slovenian Art vertical hosts Aljaž Bezjak, Creative Project Lead, Senior Creative Retoucher, and CGI artist.

The host of this episode is Tjaša Šavorič, ASEF Junior Fellow Generation 2021 and a PhD candidate at Deakin University Geelong AU and Coventry University, UK. Tjaša is interested in the new methods of communicating cultural heritage and exploring the utilization of XR technologies to enhance the well-being of individuals in confined extreme environments. 

ABOUT THE GUEST

Aljaž Bezjak is an accomplished Slovenian digital artist currently operating as a digital nomad while maintaining his base in London. Aljaž began his artistic journey at the Faculty for Applied Sciences, specializing in the Department of Photography, in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Graduating in 2018, his Bachelor’s Degree project focused on the digital colourization of black and white photography, exploring the work of well-known Slovenian photographer Stojan Kerbler.

Before relocating to England in 2016, Aljaž polished his skills as a Visual effects artist and Video Editor at Studio Ritem in Ljubljana. He also established himself as a professional photographer and filmmaker. In 2016, he joined Recom Farmhouse, a prominent CGI and creative retouching studio, where he has contributed to a diverse scope of projects ranging from fashion and fine art to full CGI renderings of cars and set builds. Through dedication and talent, Aljaž rose to a leadership position, serving as a Creative Project Lead, Senior Creative Retoucher, and CGI artist.

In 2023, Aljaž founded his own creative company. Presently, he works as a digital nomad, collaborating on various projects while traversing different locations. Join us as we delve into his artistic journey and gather insights into the life and work of this remarkable digital artist.
