Use of Computer Simulations in Medicine

As part of the ASEF Young Minds project, ASEF, in cooperation with the Student Council of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Maribor, organized a popular science lecture, where Žiga Donik, ASEF Junior Fellow generation 2022 and a young researcher at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Maribor, presented the latest findings from his research field.

Žiga presented the use of computer simulations in medicine related to vascular surgery and vascular stents. He has worked in this field during a research visit to the University of Chicago in the United States of America in collaboration with the ASEF mentor, dr. Luka Počivavšek.

Many of our Junior Fellows are already actively working in the academic field and contributing to the development of science in Slovenia with the help of international experience. That is why it is so important to support the excellent young minds of the new generation and learn about their activities.
