ASEF Tutoring Program
Academic Excellence and Social Responsibility
The ASEF Tutoring Program is built on three core values: academic excellence, character formation, and giving back to the community. Acting complementarily to the existing educational system, it provides a unique growth experience for promising and talented ASEF Fellows.
The Oxford Method in the Slovenian Context
The program introduces the prestigious tutorial method from the University of Oxford, utilizing the Socratic method of learning:

Small Group Learning: Leading academics (tutors) closely dedicate themselves to small groups of just two or three students.

Critical Thinking: Fellows write essays to delve deeply into social and scientific topics. Through discussions with their mentor, they learn to articulate their views, embrace constructive criticism, and develop intellectual autonomy.
Aligning Knowledge with Global Challenges
ASEF Tutoring fosters both professional competence and a sense of co-responsibility for global issues. Every year, the program selects a specific UN Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) as its overarching theme.
Broadening Horizons: Through regular roundtable discussions, fellows present their insights to the general public, gain public speaking experience, and foster interdisciplinary collaboration.
Since its inception in 2020, the ASEF Tutoring Program has grown steadily thanks to the generosity of our tutors and the dedication of our fellows.
