Bio:

Nenad Sestan, MD, PhD, is the Harvey and Kate Cushing Professor of Neuroscience at
Yale University. He also holds professorships in Comparative Medicine, Genetics,
Neurosurgery, and Psychiatry, and is a member of Yale’s Wu Tsai Institute and Child
Study Center. He received his M.D. from the University of Zagreb and his Ph.D. in
Neurobiology from Yale University.

Research projects:

His laboratory bridges neuroscience, evolutionary biology, genomics, and medicine to
understand how brain circuits are built, how they enable cognition, and how their
disruption contributes to neuropsychiatric disorders. To tackle these questions, his
group employs a multidisciplinary approach that integrates methods from neuroscience,
developmental biology, stem cell biology, genome editing, genomics, and computational
science.
