ASEF Fellows Gather for the 7th Traditional Summer Picnic in Tivoli Park

On Thursday, August 6, 2026, the green heart of Tivoli Park in Ljubljana hosted the 7th traditional ASEF Summer Picnic. Every year, this event connects fellows across different generations, allowing them to learn from diverse experiences and cultures while gaining valuable advice for their personal and professional development.

The picnic brought together thirteen fellows from four different generations, who brought along a variety of snacks and drinks. The afternoon was sweetened by home-cooked Slovenian pastries and snacks, including banana bread and a cold pasta salad.

In a relaxed conversation, Slovenian fellows asked their international peers about their first impressions of Slovenia. They highlighted the beauty of nature, great food, the friendliness of the people, and exciting new experiences. During the picnic, they even planned a joint visit to the Ljubljana Zoo the following day, guided by one of the Research Abroad program fellows.

Some participants agreed to stay in touch and visit each other abroad after completing their research visits, while others expressed a desire to attend future events connecting them through ASEF.

We are delighted that the number of ASEF fellows is growing each year, along with the individuals who strengthen our community. Once again, we created a wonderful afternoon together, and we are already looking forward to future gatherings that will continue to bring together young talents from Slovenia and around the world.
