Tom Kitak

Bio:

Tom Kitak is pursuing a Master’s degree in Computational Biology and Bioinformatics at ETH Zurich, Switzerland, and works as a research assistant in the Statistical Bioinformatics Group at the University of Zurich. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands, where he completed his bachelor’s thesis in collaboration with Erasmus University Medical Center in Rotterdam, focusing on machine learning methods for the analysis of biological data. Prior to focusing on computational biology research, he worked as a cyber risk intelligence developer at a cybersecurity company in The Hague, and later as a member of the portfolio analytics team at a private bank in Zurich.

Projects:

His primary research interest is the development of artificial intelligence methods to advance the understanding of biological systems. As an ASEF Junior Fellow, he will conduct research in the laboratory of Prof. Jure Leskovec at Stanford University.
