Nikiša Plešec
Bio:
Nikiša Plešec is a PhD student in Theoretical Particle Physics at the University of Ljubljana and a Young Researcher at the Jožef Stefan Institute. She is interested in uncovering the fundamental laws of the universe, with a focus on flavor physics. During her Master’s studies, she worked on false vacuum decay, investigating scalar field phase transitions. She also worked on data analysis for the Belle II experiment as part of a student job. She is passionate about science outreach, having introduced physics concepts to the public at events such as the 10th-anniversary celebration of the Higgs boson discovery in Ljubljana.
Projects:
As an ASEF Junior Fellow, she will visit Prof. Jure Zupan at the University of Cincinnati to deepen her expertise in flavor physics, refine her skills in effective field theory, and connect with the research team there. Outside of physics, she enjoys crocheting, sewing, and training her dog, where she applies the same patience and creativity that she values in research.
