She currently works in the field of hemato-oncology, specializing in the administration of chemotherapy, as well as the care and monitoring of patients who are undergoing bone marrow transplants or suffering from various types of cancer. Her dedication and experience in caring for these patients reflect a deep commitment to the well-being of others. She views this fellowship as an opportunity to deepen her clinical knowledge, exchange experiences with international experts, and develop new perspectives on patient care.

Aspirations and Interests:

Milena shares a very strong personal and cultural connection to Slovenia, as all four of her grandparents emigrated from Slovenia to Argentina. Slovenian is her native language, and she attended Slovenian school every weekend from the age of three to seventeen, where she studied Slovenian literature, history, and traditions. This cultural heritage forms a fundamental part of her identity.

Today, Milena is an active member of the “Naš Dom” Slovenian community, where she leads the youth groups Mladci and Mladenke. In this role, she passes on a love for Slovenian traditions and customs, striving to leave a lasting impact on their hearts. Her work in the community reflects her commitment to preserving her cultural roots and passing them on to future generations.

She is very much looking forward to the opportunity to revisit Slovenia, reconnect with her roots, and deepen her understanding of both the Slovenian healthcare system and the country’s rich cultural heritage.
