Matthew Klepec

Bio:

Matthew Klepec is a rising junior at The Ohio State University, where he is majoring in biology on a pre-med track. His goal is to attend medical school and become a physician, specifically specializing in radiology.

Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, Matthew grew up deeply connected to the Slovenian community and culture. His grandparents, Metod and Martina, instilled in him the values of hard work and family from a young age—principles that continue to guide him today. He preserves and passes on his Slovenian heritage as a camp counselor at Slovenska Pristava in Cleveland. This role brings him great fulfillment, as it allows him to teach children Slovenian traditions and help them strengthen their cultural roots.

Aspirations and Interests:

During his ASEF research fellowship in Slovenia, Matthew aims to reconnect with his family and deepen his understanding of his Slovenian heritage. He also looks forward to gaining valuable experience in the medical field by shadowing physicians from various specialties, which will expand his medical knowledge and reinforce his commitment to becoming a radiologist.

In his free time, he enjoys working out, playing golf with friends, skiing, and spending quality time with family and friends.
