Magdalena Presiček Eciolaza

Bio:

Magdalena Eciolaza is an Argentine-Slovenian biology student from Mar del Plata, Argentina. In 2019, she began her studies in biology and education at the National University of Mar del Plata (UNMdP). Her interests include environmental conservation, molecular biology, photosynthetic microorganisms, and biotechnology. She has completed internships in marine ecology and molecular biology, where she focused on cyanobacterial physiology. In 2023, she received a research fellowship to study nitrogen metabolism at the Laboratory of Molecular and Integrative Physiology within the Institute of Biological Research at the National University of Mar del Plata (IIB, CONICET-UNMdP). She is currently a student assistant in the Department of Plant and Animal Biology at the same university.

Aspirations and Interests:

Beyond her academic career, Magdalena is engaged in community service and cultural preservation. She is an active member of the Slovenian Center in Miramar, where she helps communicate and promote events to strengthen cultural ties. Her goal is to foster cooperation between Argentina and Slovenia in the fields of conservation and sustainability. In her free time, she enjoys being out in nature and playing sports, including hiking, skiing, and volleyball.
