Ignacio Farah Bečaj

Bio:

Ignacio Farah Bečaj is an economics graduate from the University of Bologna. As a student, he distinguished himself not only as a university ambassador from Argentina but also through his exceptional efficiency—completing a demanding international degree with academic exchanges in Argentina, France, and the Netherlands in half the standard time. Today, he continues his path at the intersection of advanced artificial intelligence and entrepreneurship. His work focuses primarily on deploying local AI systems that ensure high levels of data privacy, which is crucial for smaller teams and startups.

He solidified his practical expertise at Amazon in Amsterdam, where he managed the development of AI-driven solutions as a Junior Product Manager. He successfully transformed time-consuming manual processes into automated workflows powered by intelligent agents. These projects drove significant sales growth for the company and served as a model of best practice, which was even presented to leading EU officials.

During his studies, Ignacio co-founded the startup GeoBu, where he developed an innovative wearable device designed to enhance the safety of vulnerable groups, earning first prize at the Rotary Club Innovation Competition. His technical proficiency is backed by multiple victories in robotics and programming competitions (Amazon CoderZ, Lego League), while his business acumen is proven by successes in prestigious challenges such as SABG-Bain and the Matherika Trading Cup.

Aspirations & Interests:

As part of his ASEF fellowship, Ignacio is coming to Slovenia for a research visit. Here, he will focus on developing advanced, locally hosted Large Language Models (LLMs) capable of delivering top-tier performance without relying on external providers or expensive infrastructure. His goal is to create a secure, adaptable system that learns directly from user interaction.

Beyond his research work, Ignacio is eager to share his extensive international experience with others. As a mentor, he aims to guide future fellows and use his story to inspire young people to think bigger and more globally.
