Helena Godina is a fifth-year medical student at the University of Ljubljana’s Faculty of Medicine who has cultivated a diverse international profile by studying medicine in four languages: Slovenian, German, Croatian, and English.

Her academic journey includes Erasmus+ exchanges in Freiburg and Split, alongside clinical observerships at Hospital 12 de Octubre in Madrid and Stanford University Hospital in Palo Alto. Currently an active researcher at the Institute of Oncology Ljubljana focusing on breast cancer, she has also completed a research exchange in Torreón, Mexico. As an ASEF Junior Fellow, Helena will further advance her expertise in ophthalmology and research methodology under the mentorship of Prof. Dr. David Križaj at the University of Utah
