Hayden Leach is currently completing his degree in computer engineering at the University of California, Santa Cruz, where he will graduate in June 2025. Growing up in California’s scenic Sierra Nevada mountains, he developed a deep love for adventure and dedicated himself to activities like skiing, hiking, and exploring the vibrant waters of the Yuba River.

Hayden’s innate curiosity fueled his passion for engineering, particularly automotive and electronic systems. He enjoys the hands-on challenges of diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electronic devices, constantly seeking opportunities to learn and upgrade his skills. Through the ASEF Fellowship, he aims to further develop his abilities and expertise, guided by a resourceful and meticulous approach that has also been shaped by his Slovenian heritage.

Hayden sees the fellowship as an ideal opportunity to deepen his engineering knowledge, connect with Slovenia’s innovative tech community, and strengthen the bond with his cultural roots. He eagerly looks forward to exploring Slovenia’s beautiful landscapes and building meaningful connections within the Slovenian community.
