Caroline Cupar
Bio:
Caroline Cupar is a rising senior at The College of Wooster, where she is majoring in psychology and music. Her goal is to pursue graduate studies to become a child psychologist and help children with their mental health.
Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, her Slovenian roots run deep; her grandparents and father were born in Slovenia, making her both a first- and second-generation Slovenian-American. Her heritage connects her to Cleveland’s Slovenian community through her active involvement at St. Mary’s Parish, where she volunteers, sings in the choir, and participates in holiday traditions. She attended St. Mary’s Slovenian School for ten years, graduating after completing the eighth grade. Additionally, she is an active member of the Kres folklore dance group, Slovenska Pristava, KSKJ, and the Styrian-Prekmurje Club. These experiences have strengthened her love for Slovenian culture and shaped her character by deepening her connection to its traditions, heritage, and language, while also bringing her lifelong friendships.
Aspirations and Interests:
During her visit to Slovenia, Caroline looks forward to expanding her knowledge through research in psychology, particularly child psychology, while developing key skills such as problem-solving, professionalism, and collaboration. She is also excited to fully immerse herself in Slovenian culture—exploring the country, discovering its history, learning the language, building friendships through ASEF, and reconnecting with her family.
